The Search Continues

So the update on job-hunting is that the search is still on -- have had a couple of exciting interviews, as well as a few duds. One interview at a big-time brokerage house where investment bankers make millions -- fancy dimly-lit offices, dark wood everywhere -- I guess we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto -- still waiting for an answer for the place I interviewed week before last.

Going to job interviews does get old really fast. I am growing tired of recounting my life history and what I'm good at and so on and so on. And I'm sure now that I'm tired of it I'm probably starting to skip things without even realizing it.

Mira finished tennis this week -- they had a party of sorts the final day Thursday but it was a horribly hot day for it. I am SO done with this summer -- definitely gonna have to move north in the future, the norther the better. Yellowknife is starting to look good now.

Last weekend we toured the James Hill house on Summit Ave -- big time railroad tycoon mansion -- 13 bathrooms, 22 fireplaces, wired for electricity (which was cutting-edge techonology at the time, very spendy) -- forgot to take the camera, but the place was too dim to have gotten good pictures even if I had remembered.

The previous weekend we went to see Fort Snelling -- had lots of people in costume to tell you what life was like in a fort on what was the American frontier in the 1820's. One of the guys in costume is a member of one of my committees, I didn't even recognize him at first just because he was so out of context. I'll post those pictures later this weekend.

I'll be interested to see if you song changes about moving farther north this coming winter!!

Big investment banker can make his sister lots of $$$$!!, but I supposed you have to start with some first.

HA yeah I wish! The interview wasn't to BE an investment banker, it's just that those are the types I'd be having to work with -- I would be a 'grunt' :-)
