Mira had her first day of third grade today, and 4 of the 5 cocoons hatched into little butterflies today. The cat, Doodoo, developed too keen an interest and knocked over the bug cage -- nobody was hurt but I figured I had to keep the cat out of the porch where we kept them the rest of the day, then let them go after Mira got home from school.
This is now easily the longest time I have been not going to work since I graduated from college. Job-hunting doesn't feel nearly as much like 'time off' as I had hoped, with the research, messages, phone conversations, waiting & worrying, getting bugged by recruiters etc. it feels more and more like job-hunting is just another job, and a fairly sucky job at that. And today with Mira gone to school and Kris gone to the school library it felt downright eerie, just not normal.
Another interview coming up on Friday for something totally new, we'll see if that looks promising. And if not I figure now that we're past Labor Day and everybody's back from vacation the job activity should get more interesting too.
