We have a new child in the house, Mira's counsin's puppy, Belle. We're watching her while they go to Disneyworld -- and it's much more supervision-intensive than Sparky, it's like having a hairy little toddler in the house, just always running around and getting into stuff. Sparky has fun playing with her, but it's clear she likes to play longer and more often than he does. He climbs a chair to get away from her when he decides he's had enough. Doodoo is hiding out in the basement until this blows over.
Another interview next week I'm pretty excited about, we'll see how it goes. I've got quite a collection of business cards going, I'll have to make a scrapbook or a mural or something.
Also we've got new neighbors this year, the house behind ours changed hands late this summer, a young couple with one child -- Carlos is from Guatemala, where his family owns a coffee farm (yes that's a shameless commercial plug for my neighbor right in my blog, sue me) -- so yesterday I started buying coffee from him. Now I can get my caffeine fix from dealer right in my neighborhood! Anybody want some Guatemalan coffee straight from the farm? His wife, Katie, manages their website and is also making periodic trips to the Darfur region of Sudan to assist with the refugee situation there (I missed what organization she's with) -- and they have a cute little boy, Diego, who looks like he's probably about 3 or 4.
