Tricks or Treats

Well we had a very successful Halloween night, Mira and Sam (Mira's neighbor and friend across the street) went trick-or-treating and got a pretty good haul. And I scored my fair share of "Dad I don't like this kind of candy bar, you can have it" winnings. Mira was dressed up as a vampire girl, while Sam was dressed up as 'Link' from the Legend of Zelda (Nintendo game for you non-generation X parents out there).


Comet Holmes is still a great sight in binoculars and has grown in size to the point that it is a visibly non-stellar blur to the naked eye. This picture I took is a shot of the constellation Perseus as it appears if you're facing NE and looking about halfway up toward the zenith around 9 or 10pm. The halo from the original eruption continues to expand so it gets bigger in the eyepiece every day, but looks like it may be starting to dim a bit toward the center.
