LOST

So I've been in Georgia (or as the locals call it, Geawwwwwgia) for 3 days now for work. I've been staying in Roswell (north of Atlanta) and tonight there was this big dinner to go to at this ritzy outfit in downtown Atlanta. All these 10-16 lane expressways look kind of the same and I must have gotten on the wrong one coming out of downtown because the exit I was expecting wasn't showing up and then I realized I was on I-75 not I-85, and after exiting I got so damn lost I actually stopped and ASKED DIRECTIONS (!?!) buying some gas and a map of Georgia in the process and sooooo 3 counties later and 1 1/4 hours after leaving the restaurant I'm finally back at the hotel. Ugh.

The weather is nice, it's in the 50's every day. The terrain and trees here on the outskirts of the Appalacians is actually kind of reminiscent of Northern Minnesota. There's pretty blatant things that really stand out as different like the fact that all the buildings are made of brick. Then there's more subtle things, like they paint all the fire hydrants silver (I guess it stands out better than red against all the brick backgrounds) and one of the more popular drinks is 'sweet tea' which is what they call iced tea that's sweetened -- if it's not sweetened they call it 'unsweet tea'.

Welcome to the south, enjoy your tea!! I am so proud of you for asking directions, you are probably the only male in the family that would do that rather than drive around for another hour ;)

Well, I was pretty desperate, so don't chalk it up to some sort of intellectual maturity thing. The truth is, it was 11pm, I was tired and I had to go to the bathroom really really bad. Every man has his breaking point.
