I realize I haven't blogged in over a week and that's some kind of record - but work has been just absolutely nuts. The bigwigs are in from the Corporate HQ in the southeast and so we're presenting results and findings and stuff and I've had a couple of 12-13 hour days in a row this week and poor Kris is starting to feel like a single mom. 2 nights ago I was editing a report and swapping emails with my boss across town while the cleaning people were starting to turn off the building lights. Yesterday was all meetings from 9am to 7pm. I haven't worked this many cumulative hours since... well, since I was back on the farm.
It is pretty extraordinary stuff that's going on right now and I am thinking/hoping it will calm down a bit after Christmas. If it doesn't, I might be some sort of crazy person by spring. I really dig the kind of work that I'm doing, but holy cow it's too much right now.
This weekend Kris goes to her orientation at St. Kate's to start in the Library & Info. Science program in January! Mira and Sam (from across the street) have been having lots of fun playing in all the new snow the last week or two, even when it's only 9 degrees or whatever outside, they'd stay out there all day if you let 'em.
Unfortunately some truck or something backed over one of the big snowpiles in front of the house where Mira and Sam had been stockpiling an arsenal of snowballs to pelt me with one of these evenings. Needless to say, they were disappointed.

Are you feeling better? It is certainly easier to put in long hours if you don't feel like garbage. Want to come and dig out my car so I can get Sam tonight from the late bus? Please!!
Question for you. Who is the little dude that shows up with your comment. Are you telling me that is what you look and feel like after all these hours of work. Just curious is all.
He's an old member of the family, Tin Foil Junior -- Started life years ago as a sheet of tin foil used to make supper, I balled it up and made it talk and tell jokes -- eventually he grew eyes and a body made of pipe cleaners. :-)
