Tennis Tournament

Well today was the semi-finals for the St. Paul urban tennis program, and it was pretty exciting. The first picture below is from Mira's first match, which she won handily -- the bottom two pictures are from the second round, which was much more difficult as Mira and her opponent seemed very evenly matched. They both had very measured control when returning, so once they got past the serve they would get almost impossibly long rallies going back & forth -- Mira usually got the last successful hit in these rallies, but her opponent won more points on the serves, so one would win a game, then the other, until they were tied 2 games to 2 (which had taken a long time already) -- finally at around 1:30 Mira won the match 4 games to 2. After this grueling match Mira was completely exhausted, and very overheated, so at this point we went home without going to the 3rd round. But it was a very exciting day all the same.
