So I already knew Mira enjoyed anime films and TV series and had been into drawing manga-style characters. What I didn't fully appreciate was how far she has been quietly progressing in her skill. Today I actually started flipping through her sketchbook that she's always drawing in, and... holy cow. I mean seriously, a 10-year-old drew this!?!Honest, none of this stuff was traced or copied. I'm pretty sure she's conjured all of these characters up completely herself.
I guess there comes a time in every parent's life when they realize that their child has mastered some skill far beyond anything they themselves ever have or ever will (and may have never even tried). I think as parents, Kris and I have hit that milestone.
This is but a sampling of Mira's stuff. Some pages, such as the 'eyes' page shown below, look like she's making her own drawing textbook. I'm flabbergasted.

Cool -- tell her to start writing stories to go with the pictures
-- she could be a star -- an illustrator -- better yet, Mom should write the stories and Mirs
do the pictures and you guys should get published! And be famous and all that good stuff.
