Work and Play

Well we had a pretty good 3-day weekend. Monday was mostly yardwork -- I spent much of the day in the back alley planting 30 little ground-cover plants and Kris and Mirs did some flower planting out front. We were pretty sore Tuesday -- why does planting make you so tired and sore? Plants are such little things.

Sunday was great fun, we went to Kris' sister's cabin on the lake. Kris and I went kayaking while Mirs and Sparky caught a boat ride with the other kids. Sparky went nuts running all over up and down the hill at top speed -- he does that sometimes when he realizes he's off the leash and is free to run as fast as he can, and when it happens he's just a blur. Mirs had a lot of fun playing with cousin Laura and the neighbor kids, she didn't want to come home.

That was so much stuff I can't even remember what happened Saturday anymore. I know some folks are wondering, for what it's worth Kris and I both have some interesting leads on a couple of job prospects and are going through some interviewing. We'll let ya know what happens!

Sounds exciting -- I didn't realize that Kris was looking.
Sus and Sal are stopping in on
Sunday to take some furniture
to Nick. Will be good to get
rid of some stuff and have some
space for a while. I'm seriously
thinking about not putting anything new in the sunroom.
Would that seem weird to guests
if we just had various chairs
and no couch? You know, kind of
making do with what we already
own.

I don't think that'd be weird at all. Nothing wrong with a little simplicity
