Last Day of School

Today is Mira's Last Day of School (LDOS) and she's all pumped for summer vacation. We may have to go out for ice cream or something. I am counting down to my LDOW (Last Day of Work) which is set for August 15th and so I am also pumped. Totally psyched about having some real time off during the summer, catch up with some projects around the house, maybe take some kind of super-bike-ride like my ambitious brother-in-law Sal does all the time.

90 degrees these last 2 days, it's pretty warm for biking but perfectly do-able since you've always got a breeze in the face for air conditioning. Hit 1800 miles on my summer bike's odometer today, that's about 600 miles for the last 2 months. I figure between 4 bikes I've probably logged about 8,000 miles over the last 4-5 years. That's about a thousand bucks worth of gas!

Met the new owners of the dead fish house the other day, seem nice enough, two young ladies with a dog and a very affectionate pussycat. They've been in intensive cleanup mode for 4 or 5 days. Sounds like they plan to live in it over the summer, fix it up & sell it in the fall. That's great, as long as someone fixes it up.

Congratulations Mira on your certificate. That is a lot of pages to have read. We are so proud of you here in Connecticut.
