More Interviews

Had a double-header today, two interviews that both went pretty well. Very different positions but each one has its own fascinations. I am getting tired of interviewing though. Should find out if it comes to anything next week, I think.

The other day I was thinking that it's getting routine to the point where I don't get too nervous before an interview anymore, but during the interview I still get self-conscious for unexpected reasons. Being interviewed by older bankers I start worrying that I look boyish and inexperienced, and being interviewed by people closer to my age I worry that my thinning and graying hair makes me look like some geezer to them. 39 is sort of that 'awkward age'. Too old to be a fresh go-getter, too young to be a big shot.

Mira's well settled into school now, and Kris is working on an essay to get admission to St. Kate's. Evenings aren't as physically demanding now that Mira has homework to keep her occupied, but we still play a little hide-and-tag around the block. Kris and Mira go hide and Sparky takes me to them. This game makes him crazy. Doodoo the cat watches from the porch windows and when we're done she tries to run outside and play it too. She seems to grasp that this is some sort of chasing time and we have to chase her down until she runs back in the house or she rolls over and decides to let us catch her. What a weirdo.
