Kris found this little guy at a garage sale yesterday. She's always wanted a light-up gnome and so now we finally have one. We can put him out in the front yard to scare the kids on Halloween.
Looks like we'll have a free jack-o-lantern or two this year, a pumpkin plant sprouted spontaneously near the compost bin this summer and we've got one well-formed little orange pumpkin and several tiny green pumpkin-lets. We're starting to see random things sprout near the composter that we've been using for the last two years, there's also a new tomato plant nearby. I suppose some foodstuffs get spilled and things just start growing. Also, there are two mice living in the composter, and they may also be carrying bits of food and seeds around the yard.

Doodoo continues her stakeout in the kitchen, listening to the little mousey's scurrying sounds coming from under the stove and refrigerator, but the little guy won't show his face. But Doodoo is patient...
