Yesterday I got to go to my regular office for the first time -- everybody there wears blue jeans, hooded sweatshirts, hockey jerseys... I think I'm gonna like it here! And my first day there they had lasagna and cake because Dorothy was retiring! I didn't know her until I got there that morning, but all I know is I got free cake out of the deal. She was presented with a silver engraved music box after working at the bank for 33 years, which is really quite a fluke in the banking industry today.
At any rate it's a much more colorful group of 22-65 year-olds at this mortgage office instead of the usual collection of bankers and middle managers aged 45-55. And my cubicle is really spacious, once the bridge over 694 gets repaired I could bike here and park my bike behind my desk.
Mira finally seems to be over her cough, but I'm still hacking away. Last few nights I didn't even go out and look at the comet just because I felt crummy. I still feel pretty lousy today. In a few days the comet will pass between us and Alpha Persei (the brightest star in Perseus) which should look very interesting -- will make for a bright, "fuzzy" star very high in the NE sky.
Mira's got art class later, they've been inking cartoon characters. I'll take a picture of some of her stuff and post it. Having been accepted to St. Kate's, Kris is now registering for her classes and trying to figure out how much she can handle at once.
