Mom and Dad gave me this bank for my birthday. It's rather elaborate, has a lever you pull to sort the nickels from the dimes from the quarters, etc. and the base opens every time another $10.00 accumulates. There's no dates on it but it's clearly quite old. I think it was made in the days when Americans used to save money. Looks like it was also made in the days when things were built to last. Anyway, it's pretty cool.
Kris gave me a cool scangauge thingy for my car -- I've wanted one because I want to measure mileage more precisely and I'm jealous of Mom's mileage gauge in her car. Also by giving you instant readouts it's supposed to make you more adept at driving efficiently -- the idea is that the mouse instantly gets either the cheese or the electric shock and this helps it learn faster.
It's Super Tuesday and our state had Caucuses today. I actually went, which was a first for me, we usually skip caucuses and just vote in the general election. WOW the place was busy. Lines going out the door and down the street, you had to park about a quarter mile away. I was still making up my mind standing in line for 20-30 minutes for a ballot, as was the guy behind me. Ran into some fellow district council & committee members and some neighbors. Fun and interesting. In our precinct the final tally came out Obama over Hillary by a more than 3-to-1 margin.
Mira has been playing with Sam outside the last couple of days after we finally got some fresh snow to play in. I was really hoping to get some of Sparky's poops picked up in the backyard after the last melt, but most of them are just welded right into the topmost layer of ice. It's looking like it's gonna be a big spring harvest.
